GMI Empowers 200 Women Entrepreneurs in Nasarawa State
The Gumsu Empowerment Initiative (GMI) has reached a major milestone, successfully disbursing micro-grants to 200 women entrepreneurs across 11 local government areas of Nasarawa State.
Program Overview
The Women Empowerment Micro-Grant Program provides seed capital of ₦50,000 to ₦200,000 to women-owned businesses, complemented by business development training, mentorship, and market linkage support.
Impact
Beneficiaries have used the grants to establish and grow businesses in tailoring, food processing, agriculture, and retail trade. Early monitoring shows that 78% of beneficiaries have increased their household income by at least 40% within six months of receiving support.
